Frequently asked questions.
Everything you might want to know about working with Clarus. Cannot find your answer? We are one quick call away.
What services does Clarus Taxation LLC offer?
Individual and business tax filing, IRS resolution, bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, tax planning, ITIN services, LLC and business formation, sales tax filing, FBAR filing and FATCA compliance — a complete tax and finance function under one roof.
Do you work with clients in all 50 states?
Yes. We serve individuals and businesses across the United States. Because we work securely online, your location is never a barrier, and we handle multi-state filings routinely.
Can everything be done remotely?
Everything can be handled remotely. You send documents through an encrypted transfer we set up, we review by phone or video, and we e-file electronically. In-person appointments are available if you prefer.
How do I get started?
Start with a free consultation. Book online or call us, tell us what you need, and we will match you with the right advisor and send a tailored document checklist.
How much do your services cost?
Pricing depends on complexity. Simple individual returns start low, business returns are priced by entity type, and ongoing services are quoted as flat monthly fees. You always get an upfront, flat quote before any work begins.
Do you charge for the initial consultation?
No. It is completely free and carries no obligation — a chance for us to understand your needs and for you to decide if we are the right fit.
How long does a return take?
Most individual returns are completed within a few business days of receiving your documents. Business returns and complex situations take longer, but you get a clear timeline up front.
What documents do I need?
Individuals: photo ID, prior-year return, income forms such as W-2s or 1099s, and records of deductions and credits. Businesses add profit-and-loss statements, expense records and payroll data. We send a personalised checklist after your consultation.
Can you help if I only have a simple W-2?
Absolutely. Even simple returns benefit from an expert eye — we regularly find credits and deductions that self-filing software misses.
I am self-employed — can you handle my taxes?
Yes. Self-employment, freelance and 1099 income are core to what we do: maximised business deductions, quarterly estimates, and accurate self-employment tax.
What if I need to amend a previous return?
We prepare amended returns to fix errors or claim missed deductions from prior years, often recovering money you were owed. Bring us the original and we will review it at no obligation.
Can you file returns for multiple states?
Yes. Multi-state filing is common for people who moved or earned income in more than one state, and we handle it routinely alongside your federal return.
What entity types do you work with?
Single-member and multi-member LLCs, S-corporations, C-corporations, partnerships and sole proprietors — coordinating business and personal filings for the best overall outcome.
Do you handle quarterly estimated taxes?
Yes. We calculate your quarterly payments to keep you compliant and avoid underpayment penalties, with reminders before each due date.
Should my business elect S-corp status?
For many profitable businesses an S-corp election reduces self-employment tax — but it is not right for everyone. We model the numbers for your situation and advise you honestly.
Can you clean up my bookkeeping and file taxes together?
Yes, and it is one of the biggest advantages of working with us. When bookkeeping and filing live under one roof, your return is built directly from books we maintain.
I received an IRS notice — can you help?
Yes. Send us the notice and we will explain what it means and what is required. Once authorised, we represent you and communicate with the IRS directly.
Can you help with unfiled back taxes?
Definitely — it is a specialty. We reconstruct your records, prepare each missing year, and work with the IRS to bring you current, often reducing penalties in the process.
What is an Offer in Compromise?
An IRS programme that lets qualifying taxpayers settle tax debt for less than the full amount owed, based on income, expenses and assets. We evaluate whether you are a genuine candidate before pursuing it.
Do you handle FBAR and FATCA filings?
Yes. We prepare FBAR filings for foreign bank accounts and handle FATCA reporting for foreign assets, keeping you compliant with FinCEN and IRS requirements.
How do you keep my information secure?
Bank-grade encryption for document transfer and storage, strict internal access controls, and no sharing with third parties. Confidentiality is fundamental to how we operate.
Is support available after filing?
Yes. We are a year-round partner, not a seasonal service. Questions, notices or planning after filing — your advisor is available.
